Niger State Government Recognizes VODAN Africa

On 5th July 2021, The Government of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria, through the Ministry of Health (MoH) endorsed the VODAN Africa Project. 

The approval for the VODAN project was conveyed by Dr. Uthman Baba Alhaji, who is the Director of Medical Services, on behalf of the MoH. He noted the following

  1. I am under the directive to convey to you the Honourable Commissioner of Health approval with strict adherence to professional conduct and COVID-19 protocol. The approval is for the planned duration of the program.
  2. The Ministry of Health has taken note that the program will be sponsored by the Virus Outbreak Data Africa Network (VODAN Africa) and partners.
  3. Any challenge in the course of the program must be brought to the notice of the State Ministry of Health.

The VODAN Africa Nigeria Co-cordinator, Dr. Ibrahim Abdullahi With the Director

"We are able to get the Introductory Letter that will make the work seamless", said Dr. Abdullahi, the VODAN Africa Nigeria Co-coordinator, and serves as the HOD Computer Science and Director of ICT at Ibrahim Badamasi University Lapai (IBBUL), Niger State. 

According to Abdullahi Kawu, the VODAN Africa Technical Coordinator for Nigeria, "the VODAN Africa team now have access to the health facilities for the project".

One of the critical success factors for the VODAN project is the endorsement by the Ministries of Health (MoH) of participating countries. 

The IBBUL is one of the foremost partners since the inception of VODAN Africa in 2020. 

The VODAN Africa Team congratulates the Nigerian Team on this historic accomplishment.
